Bannerman Park
"The next day,
coming home after school, Ev passed her grandparents' house and went
into Bannerman Park. She wasn't really allowed to do this but the park
entrance was close to the house. If she hurried no one would notice she
was a little late. Most of the park was open, but elms and maples grew
near her grandparents' house."
Catch Me Once, Catch Me Twice
Bannerman Park was established in the 1860s. It is bounded by Military
Road, Rennie's Mill Road, Circular Road and Bammnerman Street.
This photograph shows Bannerman Park as it looked a few years ago.. The
bandshell that Ev
hid in when she was following Millie across the park is on the left of this photograph. It
was
built in 1940.
