Writing for Younger Children, Virtual Workshop on Zoom, February 2022

The Writers Federation of Nova Scotia kindly invited me to teach Writing for Younger Children on Zoom, February 2nd to 23rd in the evenings, 7 to 9 pm Atlantic time. Workshops are open to members only but anyone can join. Membership will also give you access to their manuscript review program which provides feedback from a professional writer.

I love to teach and I’m excited to share what I’ve learned about writing picture books and junior novels over the years, not only as a writer but also from reviewing books, selecting and editing them for publication and serving on juries. Every session will include writing exercises. I’m excited about teaching aspects of style that work especially well when writing for younger children. I know a few tricks that can really change the way people approach writing style.
